Audi vehicles in MLBevo platform, commonly experience ABS failure which will cause the fault code DTC C123EF0 – Hydraulic Brake Booster Limit Value Reached to be permanently stored within the ABS system. This fault is caused by failing vacuum sensor. But even after replacing the vacuum sensor DTC C123EF0 fault is still permanent in the ABS unit.

Our Solution

Till now the solution was to replace the ABS unit or the hard way to open the ABS and reach the EEPROM from the PCB. We have spent a lot of time to reverse engineer the ABS firmware in order to understand how it operates and we made a simple OBD solution for fixing this fault. Our solution does not permanently disable C123EF0 but it just reset it. In case of failure of vacuum you will be warned again.

We have prepared a small software application that works on Ethernet (DoIP) and clears the HBC activation limit DTC over OBD. There is no limitation like VIN or additional subscription.

The ABS DTC C123EF0 repair can be used but is not limited to the following ABS part numbers:
